Philip Joseph, 80, Ontario

Stretching the limits of active living

A yoga instructor for more than eight years and member of his local Seniors’ club, Philip is a champion of physical fitness. Philip graduated from Oxford University in 1943 and later became a fighter pilot. Ever since, he has continued to enrich his life with adventure, challenge and exciting opportunity. He ran his first marathon at age 74 and continues to walk or run five kilometers every day. Philip recently celebrated his 80th birthday, and is keen to complete both the renovation of his cottage and a work of historical fiction before he turns 90. He feels activity of the mind, body and spirit is an essential part of healthy living.
