Dr. Stephanie M. Kaiser
Dr. Kaiser obtained her BSc at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, and MD at the University of
Toronto. She received her FRCPC in Internal Medicine and then did her specialty training in
Endocrinology and Metabolism at McGill University. She subsequently was awarded a Medical Research Council
Fellowship and worked in the Calcium Research Laboratory under the direction of Dr. David Goltzman at McGill
University for four years. Dr. Kaiser then returned to Memorial University in the Department of Medicine
where she stayed until September 2002.
At present, Dr. Kaiser is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism
at Dalhousie University. She is Program Director for the Dalhousie Endocrinology Specialty Training
Program and she is also the Specialty Committee Chair for Endocrinology and Metabolism for the Royal College
of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Kaiser is the Medical Director of the QEII Osteoporosis Program and
she is also the Halifax Centre Co-director for the Canadian Multicentre Osteoporosis Study (CaMos).
Dr. Kaiser has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of Osteoporosis Canada since 1996 and
currently sits on the Executive. She speaks frequently to varied audiences about osteoporosis.
