Dr. Jacques Brown

Osteoporosis Canada is proud to announce that Dr. Jacques Brown,
rheumatologist and expert in the field of metabolic bone diseases as well as member of our Scientific
Advisory Council, was recently given the honour of being admitted as a Knight of the National Order of
Quebec.
On June 17, 2009, 34 people were admitted to one of the three ranks of
the National Order, Quebec’s most prestigious distinction. During a formal ceremony held at the Hôtel du
Parlement in Quebec, Prime Minister Monsieur Jean Charest presented medals to all recipients.
Dr. Brown is a clinical professor at the department of medicine at the
University of Laval and the director of the rheumatology division at the University Medical Center in Quebec
City. His main research focus is osteoporosis as well as Paget’s disease.
Dr. Brown is a tireless advocate for optimal access to medical and
hospital care for all Quebecers with bone health concerns, and effectively advocates in respect these matters
with both the federal and provincial authorities. He is involved with Osteoporosis Canada’s Quebec City
Chapter, committed to educating the Canadian public about the disease of osteoporosis.
Furthermore, due to his established, credible reputation, Dr. Jacques
Brown gives scientific and general-public conferences all around the world. He continues to strongly promote
French language usage in oral and written scientific communications.
