Osteonecrosis of the Jaw

The Scientific Advisory Council of Osteoporosis Canada has endorsed the following editorial written by the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research on Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (ONJ).

It is felt this article reflects the current and most up to date research on this subject that has currently made news headlines linking ONJ with use of bisphosphonates.  

Introduction
The increasing recognition that use of bisphosphonates may be associated with osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) led the leadership of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) to appoint a task force to address a number of key questions related to this disorder.
